Anybody have NowTV working with a custom KK ROM?
I would think it's the same as Skygo although I don't have that.
Problem I have is that anything like CM is no Unrootable (at least as far as I can achieve) enough for NowTV to accept as unrooted.
The only ROM I've managed to unroot enough is Nameless, and that has broken video with NowTV (diagonal lines across screen).
Any ideas would be great!

Hi There,
I presently have CM11 Rom for which sucks some how in when it comes down to battery but it's super fast.Are there any other custom Roms for GTI9300 other than CM.
I also have another basic query what is the difference between a rom and a kernel..does kernel add anything to the battery life?
Can i add custom kernels to custom roms??If so can i add custom kernel to the existing CM11 to improve battery life ??

I created this thread with the sole aim of helping the owners of the Japanese SAMSUNG GALAXY ALPHA SC-03E NTT DOCOMO to install the latest version of Android (LOLLIPOP) on their devices without much hassle. All updates will be provided in the future.
REQUIREMENTS
1. A properly functioning SAMSUNG GALAXY ALPHA SC-03E NTT DOCOMO. We dont want to receive any feedback from users with faulty phones.
2. FULLY CHARGED BATTERY. This is to prevent the phone from going off in the flashing process
3. A CUSTOM RECOVERY installed.
If you dont have one download Sc03e-KK-KBC-CWM-v6.0.5.1_r2-recovery and install with Odin with same
a. Hold the Power Button + Volume Down + Home at the same time. Your phone will enter Download Mode.
b. Now connect your phone to the PC via USB cable whiles Odin is opened.
c. Now in Odin click the PDA button and open the Rom that you downloaded earlier.
d. Make sure F.Reset time and Auto reboot are all ticked
e. Now click Start button and wait for it to display PASS at the top left corner. Your Phone might restart a few times.
f. If you have an NK2 rom go check this thread on how to root it.
NOTE: If you have an older CWM installed, update to this one.
THINGS TO DOWNLOAD

4. In recovery, use volume buttons to navigate and Power to select. Now go to wipe data/factory reset and wipe data, then wipe cache partition , then go to advanced and wipe Dalvic cache.
5. When all is done go to install zip and install the cm-12.1-2015xxxx-UNOFFICIAL-sc03e.zip first.
6. When done install the GAPPS package.
NOTE: IF YOU HAVE CWM 6.0.4.7 THE GAPPS PACKAGE WONT INSTALL.
7. Now go back and wipe data , cache partition and Dalvic cache again then reboot. Upon exiting CWM you will be asked to fix your root binaries... say yes!
8. Your phone will boot into Android L with a Cyanogen boot animation.
9. Set up you phone and make sure to update all your Google apps and viola! :good: ;)

[Q] SIM PIN requested but no signal picked
Hi,
Im new to XDA and i hope i will,one day, evolve to one of you geniuses.
My problem here is that my galaxy S3 phone (GT-I9300) has an IMEI 0049.....0000 and i couldnt manage to restore its original IMEI because,well i didnt back up my efs. infact i bought it that way and guess what it was working at first but slowly it stopped. Then it got to a point were when i actually press the back side alittle bit it would pick up signal. But now its completely gone and by that i mean 0049... IMEI and no signal.
After i flashed it with 4.3 stock firmware it still got stuck into that fake imei so i tried to manually write down its original imei (still im on the legal side...) using NV item reader writer and NV generator using the IMEI on the back side of the phone...I couldnt process it coz NV reader writer said FAILE...PHONE DOES NOT ANSWER. Again i installed an emergency modem XXEMG6 zip file through CWM ,which i got from a developer in XDA. Now alittle bit change, it started to ask me SIM PIN when i turn the phone on...just as a regular phone does. then when i go inside ,well nothing much changed. IMEI is same 0049 and when i try to pick operator manually it says error reading. What could be the solution guys? I have dug XDA forums so deep. I have read,learned and tried alot of things so if u think ill find the solution through reading, Im telling u i probably lost part of my eyes trying to find a solution online. Thanx for your help guys !

Cyanogenmod 12.1 bug on Video recording - Galaxy S3 mini
Hi guys, just installed cyanogen mod 12.1 from novafusion for s3 mini. Everything is working fine except video recording - when I play the video the audio is fine but the video is with green lens and dots.
I tried camu app but the videos recorded are very laggy..
Is there any possible solution? Thanks in advance!

GoodBye to my Beloved S III
To be honest, it has been a great time here but all good things come to an end. So, I am here to say a goodbye to this great forum as I have moved to Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the great developers here who made my Galaxy S III worth having after Samsung officially discontinued support for this legendary device. I never felt my phone was ever lesser than any other phone, thanks to the developers especially @JustArchi, @Moster2, @arter97, @dhiru1602, @genesixxbf3, @varund7726 and some other developers for their great efforts who made lollipop update run on this device which was like a dream come true.
Also a huge thanks to the community here who helped overcome my noobishness and solved all my problems that come around while my stay here.
In the end, I enjoyed my stay at this forum a lot.

[Q] ROM with as little bloatware and good battery lifetime as possible? Suggestions?
I'm looking to find a ROM/Kernel for my mom's i9300 with good battery lifetime and as little bloatware as possible. High performance is NOT required, as she only uses the phone for texting, calling, facebooking and occasional spotify.

[Q] Did I brick my phone?
Hello xda, first post n00b here,
I recently got my hands on a SIII (lot better then my old htc one V), and I wanted to install cyanogenmod on it. So I installed the i9300 recovery rom on it and for a short while it seemed to work, but when I tryed to sideload cyanogenmod something went wrong. Everytime I rebooted I got thrown into the downloading, do not power off target!!-screen.
I quickly found my mistake, I did not have an i9300 I had an i9305. With some help from the lovely people at #cyanogenmod (shout out to you PsychoI3ob) I figured out I had to flash the stock rom. I could not figure out how to do this with heimdall, so I downloaded Odin. With Odin, everything went right untill it was somewhere around 99%. The write failed. Now the only thing I see when I but the batteries in my phone is: Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
So now I would like to know: Did my phone just become a paperweight or is there still anything I can do?

I'm looking for a rom that has as ART and not Dalvik runtime, or both with the possibility to switch them.
I tried to CM12.1 JustArchi but only Dalvik and does not want to implement ART.
Does anybody know if there is one? If possibile without many changes as themes, overclock, downvoltage, preinstalled apps ... etc ...

STEP 1: How to flash Firmware GT-I9305 on SHV-E210K/L/S
1- Open your ODIN
2- Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
3. Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
4- Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
5- Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
6- Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes
7- After done, wipe all and reboot - DONE!
*** Note: In this step you will be lost wifi (dead), bad IMEI and Baseband. Don't worry all can be fix on Step 2 and STEP 3.
