I need some guidance for buying tips off CL.
Recently,I bought a TMo S3,which was claimed to be unlocked..I was able to make some calls with sellers ATT sim and calls went fine.
Later, I got my microSIM for SIMPLE MOBILE and put it in the S3. NO LUCK. It did not pickup the signal and just kept "searching" for network.
Apparently, the S3 might have been reported stolen or something. So IMEI on TMo/SimpleMo network was blocked. So my money was in drain, though I recouped some of it by selling again (with disclaimer that it works on ATT and not TMo/SimpleMo).
Now, I'm back to search again. If I find a Tmo S3 again,and want to buy what are the precautions to consider.
I'm thinking of 3 things right now.
1. Put my SImpleMo microSIM and make sure it works.
2. Get all the seller's details (like name,address etc)
3. Go to TMobile shop and dis-associate his name with device's IMEI so that he no longer is the owner of the same.
(That will avoid in future that he calls in and report it at stolen).
Anything else to be considered? PLease HELP AND ADVISE.
