I noticed that when I set a high res wallpaper as my background or lockscreen the quality is reduced. I found out that this is because when the picture is cropped, the image quality goes down the drain.
This can be reproduced by cropping an image yourself. When I crop a whole image of 1680x1050, for example, and I take the whole picture, so that the pixel count should be exactly the same, the new image is actually 640x400.
What was the thought proccess behind this, like.. seriously.
Also I'm currently on LJ2, if that even matters.
