[Q] Installing a kernel on CM 10.2 rom

Please excuse my poor English and my (possibly) dumb question

If I flash a certain kernel on my phone (this one for example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2449408), will I lose it and second I get a new nightly update? Does a kernel need to be re-flashed after every update?
