CM 10.2 from scratch?

Hi,

I am using CM since I bought my S2 and the first thing I did after receiving my S3 was - installing CM. I use the nightlies and update my S3 every 2 to 5 days.
Since a couple of days my S3 is bugging like hell. It freezes - somehow - it does not freeze complete - it stops reacting to any input and after a couple of minutes it works like normal... like nothing happened...?
As there were only a couple of MB left on my internal storage I used adb shell to backup my photos and delete them from my mobile to free up some space. Currently I got 6 GB free space on my internal storage. I updated to the latest nightly (4. Aug. 2013) and tried the fix permissions script from CWM recovery. This made my phones situation better but it is still "freezing" a couple of times a day.

as adb logcat does not work if the phone is in this strange "freeze mode" I have no idea what is happening. to me it looks like there is some IO problem with the internal storage.

CM 10.2 has got TRIM. So my idea was to install CM 10.2 to trim the internal SSD. But I do not want to upgrade over my existing installation. I want to format as much filesystems as possible and start from scratch.
Is there any howto explaining how to do so? Which filesystem can be formatted without bricking my phone?

my plan is to format as much FS as possible - use adb push to copy the latest unofficial cm 10.2 build to my sdcard and install CM 10.2 - will that work?

regards,
