audio technica earphones buttons not working

I bought a new pair of earphones as my earphones from Samsung died recently
so I bough a pair of audio-technical earphones but I cant use any of the buttons from that earphones
is there a way to configure with the s3?
currently running stock rom 4.1.2(UK)
